The Fish Market is the old fish market of the city of Catania and is included in the tourist route to the folklore content that you breathe as you pass between the counters of the fishmongers. The fact that it’s always crowded and loads of incessant clamor of the vendors create a unique atmosphere.
The counters are from the beginning of the nineteenth century in the tunnels dug around the Cinquecento in Palazzo del Seminario of the Clerics and the walls of Carlo V, in front of the Navy-arches, once immersed in the waters of the underlying fishing harbor, now filled and transformed into public parks, in Piazza Alonzo di Benedetto and Piazza Pardo.
